About Us

Deputy Chief and Chief IdeaSpies

We believe in sharing innovation to inspire action.

Idea Spies are observant people who care about the world and make it better by sharing clever ideas happening around them -see short intro video here

The idea for this ideas platform was born on a trip to Canada in 2015 when a guide said Promote what you love, rather than bash what you hate’.

There are now over 2,000 clever ideas, happening now, posted on IdeaSpies. You can easily search the ideas by category and word, share and rate them. The platform shows the most popular as well as the most recent ideas. All ideas on IdeaSpies are explained simply so they can be understood easily.

If you join IdeaSpies you can also comment and add ideas as well as receive IdeaSpies Weekly.

Ideas inspire change. You can inspire and promote change by sharing and posting clever ideas, including startup ideas, on IdeaSpies. Ask about IdeaSpies Enterprise to encourage useful ideas at your work.

We define innovation as “implementation of ideas that add value”.

“The future is already here – it’s just not evenly distributed.” William Gibson. IdeaSpies is helping to even the distribution.

Maria Halasz, CEO Cellmid Limited, said  “We posted our idea on IdeaSpies when we had brought a brand new technology to help women with hair loss. After looking at IdeaSpies our entire team became galvanised and even those with no social marketing knowledge, such as our scientists and admin team, got right behind it.”

Sarah Davies, CEO  Philanthropy Australia said, “The IdeaSpies platform is such an exciting innovation. It is a terrific space for not-for-profits to share their clever ideas and inspire others to think about how they can make the world a better place.”

Macquarie University is providing interns from their PACE (Professional and Community Engagement ) program to “work” with IdeaSpies as part of their course.

IdeaSpies is collaborating with ON, Australia’s national science and technology accelerator program, powered by CSIRO, to share ideas developed by teams. David Burt, Co-Founder ON Program, said “It’s been fantastic collaborating with IdeaSpies –working to inspire innovation by encouraging us to see the clever ideas that surround us. I’m constantly impressed by the effort they put into promoting and celebrating others”.

David Pring, Managing Partner Western Sydney, KPMG Australia said “IdeaSpies Enterprise was very well received by staff. It’s thought provoking and easy to use, with no training needed. In the early stages of the trial we made some suggestions which were immediately taken up to improve the platform.

“Staff saw the program as an opportunity to suggest ideas that could improve the way they work. In addition to specific ideas we saw themes coming from the ideas that have led to improvements.
